AUTHOR

Margi Law was born and educated in England. After completing her teacher training in Weymouth in Dorset, her first appointment was at a high school in Birmingham, where she taught maths and science to 12 and 13 year olds

In 1963, she and a college friend emigrated to Sydney where they spent three action packed years in Kirribilli.

Margi taught English and Australian history at a junior high school in Homebush.

In 1969 she married an Australian businessman in Singapore and after a few short stays in Hong Kong and Bangkok, they finally settled in Kuala Lumpur where they lived for several years. When they returned to Sydney, Margi became involved in her husband's packaging business until she retired last year.

In her spare time she used to write poetry and short stories before she began her children's story.

"The Timberleys of Tingira Bay" began when Margi's children were in primary school. They were avid readers especially of adventure stories, so Margi decided to write her own book for them.

She used the names of her three children, Sarah, Adam and Emma and set the story on the northern beaches and around Pittwater and the Hawkesbury River.

Together with their friend Matt, they become involved with a gang of smugglers after the two boys discover an escaped prisoner in the national park. In order to locate the smugglers' hideout, they have to solve a secret code which leads them into all kinds of adventure - and trouble!
